I am a data science enthusiast and working on data science since my Final Year Project. I love to study in this field and want to study MSc. Data Science or any relevant program. But in the same way, I want to study at a top university in Germany. When I look at rankings, universities are ranked different in Times Higher Education rankings. I’m curious about what to consider to apply for admission. My question is:
What should be in mind before applying for any program?
desired program vs rankings vs job cities?

1. Evaluate your profile and find out what do you want to study. Do proper research about study programs that might interest you. Find out which programs best suit you and which requirements match you.
2. Desired Program:
If you are interested in Research, look for the most relevant university that does research in that area. Find more information about the research groups involved in the topic of your research and what you need to do in order to be more likely picked by the professors for their research.
The ranking of the universities doesn’t matter. In the end, employers will look at your skills not the university studied from.
City selection is important in terms of your expenses and earning opportunities.
I would personally first shortlist study programs.
